its been a very warm past few days. i ended up sweating even though i was just sitting in my room playing guitar. and ive never sweat so much while cycling to school before. ohwell.

my studying has been coming in spurts, which could be a good thing. at least its happening at all. but today i dont feel like doing anything. its like im just waiting on moe to announce whether we have an extra few days of holiday. or rather study time. hopefully they make an announcement today. even if its to say we’re all going back to school on monday. i need more certainty in my life.

if there’s a week off: we get more time to study for common test. but less time to prepare for ioc. and somehow they just about even each other out. predicted grade vs final grade. sigh.

if there are no school activities this week: more time to study but less time to practice. which means that foa will be kinda messy. which is bad.

so im back. from church camp and KL. 

church camp was an interesting experience. despite not going for the group sessions, i feel like i learn more every year. that, with the fact that edmund chan is a fascinating speaker, made the sermons all the more meaningful. but it matters not what we hear, or even know, if the actions don’t follow. and hopefully this time the effect lasts long enough.

the Ascott is a really nice hotel. well, its more of serviced apartments than a hotel, but still it suffices. so much of an improvement over the desaru resort we stayed in for church camp. the shopping was not too bad, but i didnt really feel like buying very much stuff. what i really felt like buying was an n97, but that is impossibly expensive and i have a bad feeling im never going to get it. especially since my phone’s worth only 100 dollars tradein value. but ohwell. 

its nice to be back.

while stoning in the car listening to my ipod, it occurred to me that there havent been any epic disney movies like lion king or even hercules or aladdin recently. i mean, sure theres nice shows being released, but with so much less of the musical aspect. it’ll be such a pity if future generations only have things like high school musical to watch. makes me feel like going out and buying copies of all these shows and keeping them. 

long rides are conducive to wandering minds.

so the 1st week of holidays is drawing to an end. and i have failed to accomplish anything this week. hopefully the mugging starts on saturday. before its too late.

having gone to school everyday, i think we should just have had an extra week of lessons. it’d probably have been more productive. what? a holiday? whatever were they thinking.

that said, today was a good day. despite the fact that the stupid psc math test killed me, because i didnt check the time. i’d rather have had 2 hours of iq test style questions. thats so much more fun. that and personality tests.

the german ensemble is really really pro. the tone colour and the speed at which their fingers move is insane. despite playing at the 17th fret on a non cut-away classical, the sound came out perfect. and their performance of Mediterranean sundance was just insane. i think that guy can play twice as fast using his fingers as i can with a pick. or maybe even faster, considering that my picking is really slow. i feel inspired to learn the violin now, and im sure if i hadnt already picked up guitar, i would have done so after watching them today. so that’s what its like to be pro.

i must say, im looking forward to foa. quite.
